Abdalah Masoud is popularly known as Masoud Junior – because he is the younger brother of another popular Tanzanian cartoonist, Ali Masoud ‘Kipanya’.
Masoud Jr. says his plans are to enhance his talent to an international level.
But he is aware that he and his collegues have a long way to go: "A big difficulty in this field is that the majority of cartoonists are poor and unemployed".

Masoud ventured into the field of cartooning in 1995 when he was still schooling. It was in 1998 when he started to seriously work with various magazines and newspapers. The first newspaper which started to publish his cartoons was Sanifu, which was being published by Business Times Limited (BTL).
Other BTL publications which have published Masoud’s work are Majira, Sanifu, Maisha and Al-Watan.
Masoud has featured at various cartoon exhibitions, among which the was a show for the Children’s Book Project (CBP).
